He says there may be resticted hours on outside areas
A leading lawyer has warned pubs to check their premises licence before the onslaught of the smoking ban.
Hamish Lawson, head of the licensing team at Cobbetts, said that there may be conditions on pubs premises licences which could restrict the opening hours of outside areas.
“The problem arises if you have agreed to some sort of restriction on the beer garden," he said
“You have to look closely at the wording of it. You may have to make a variation application to have this changed.”
He was speaking at the British Beer & Pub Association North of England Forum last week.
